Since June 2017, Domaine Saint Andrieu is certified HEV by the French Ministry of Agriculture and Food. Based on environmental performance, HEV encompasses biodiversity conservation, plant protection strategy, managed fertilizer use and water resource management.
It aims to identify and promote particularly environmentally friendly practices applied by farmers and winegrowers. The certification ensures that the factors for biodiversity, such as hedges, trees, strips of grass, flowers and insects, is very widespread throughout the vineyard and that the stress applied to the environment through farming practices is kept to a minimum.
This distinction illustrates the profound respect of nature and its eco-systems by the owners who have always managed their vineyards with this philosophy. In all of their vineyards, the land is cultivated by machine, without herbicides or chemical fertilizers. The amendments are exclusively of organic matter to contribute to the soil life.
